We decided to save up a bit more and get an '06 special edition of some sort instead of a plain GT. Saleen, Roush, GT500, etc. It will be the wife's ride. I told the wife "cool chicks drive stick". She agrees. She's embarrassed to let anyone know her 2000 GT 'vert is an automatic.

Actually, I just started fabbing up the twin slash cut tips this week. The pipes came from the local auto parts store... and don't knock my J.C. Whitney parts I had on Silvie. It was a broken clamp that made the exhaust leak... After SZ, I fixed that clamp and added resonators (perforated glasspacks) which made that exhaust sound much better.

Oh, BTW, there have been many changes to the SS already... Lowered 2" front/rear, PCM4Less reprogram with "race" program on the tow button, K&N drop in, MSD wires (stealth black ones).

She's getting 18.5 MPG highway now with the reprogram and can average 15-16 in town too.

In the works:
  • Exhaust, as I mentioned in the last post. She will have true duals exiting on the passenger's side with twin 2.5" slash cut tips welded together and smoothed to look similar to a vintage NASCAR style boom-tube. It will be cut into the lower bed/fender extension. Finish will be flat black high temp paint or powder coating.
  • Also as part of the exhaust will be long tube headers from Pacesetter. 1 3/4" primaries with a 3" collector (may go with a different aftermarket collector for more HP/TQ).
  • Functional ram air feed coming from the right side front bumper insert to a modified stock air box.

new pic, looks similar to the old one, just a little lower now.

dont listen to those guys wanting you to supercharge that truck, turbocharge it. search on the net for a fella named parish. he's running a t76 on a 6.0 in a regular cab shortbed, that truck will flat out move. i believe he ran a 10.94 with a stock motor and just arp hardware. those ls series of motors have serious potential.
