Actually, the SVT would be a dog by comparison with an automatic, it isn't a very torquey motor at lower rpm. They probably did it because the performance they get wasn't worth putting the SVT name on it. Look at the Taurus motor, one of them is a duratech and puts out more power than an SVT stock.
