I think my fuel pump has went kaput. I was driving down the road and lost power, coasted to a stop. Car cranks but won't fire up. Fuel pump fuse was blown. Replaced the fuse, still won't start.

My question is this: I found the HOWTO for the returnless fuel pump, but since my 'Tour is a 98 I assume I have a return fuel pump. Do you still get to the return fuel pump under the back seat? What's different with the return fuel pump (other than an extra hose)?

95 through early 98 return pumps fit through the hole.

It's easier.

not sure how much a new stock pump will cost you, but you can pick up a walbro 255 lph for about $90-100 and will work with just minor modification.

Cool. I'm gonna let a garage do it since they already have it, but I'll let the guy know in case he still thinks you've got to drop the tank...

BTW, I don't know how I managed to post this in General Mods, I thought I was posting in Duratec Maintainence.

No cutting required.. 95 through early 98 fit through the maintenance hold already in the back seat.

If thou perpetuates thou most perpetuate properly and precisely.

Correct information helps too...
