Ford never makes an automatic anymore that can take the torque of anything but the standard engine. By not offering automatics in souped-up models, they severely limit the buyer base since not everybody wants a stick.
They sort of learned this with the SHO Taurus, but I guess forgot with later cars like the SVT ones.
A pity.
