Im with you on that. IMO they dont belong on the 98+ they just look ugly. I would go with a 98 replacement.

I'm either going pre-98 w/lip, or post 98 spoiler-less... I was considering having my reflector painted when the new trunk is painted... but my fiance doesn't like it. Sucks cause I think black tours w/ painted reflectors look pretty sweet. Thats why I kinda am leaning twards the pre-98.
