maybe i should get my block bored and stroked and do a complete rebuild... being 17 and having no money really sucks... the 3.0 conversion is going ot have to wait. exhaust and intake, with a new fuel pump, injectors, throttle body and such should give me a pretty decent amount of power. sadly there seems to be no love for the 95 se,

You have the raw enthusiasm and naivete of a newbie. I think it's refreshing in a way, but my words for you are "whoa, cowboy!"

Calm down. Do some reading. Save your money.

By the time you "bore and stroke" and "do a complete rebuild" on this motor you'll have spent the cost of a 3L and then some.

Take your time. Do the research. Make a plan, and then stick to it. This is especially important when you "have no money."

Intake and exhaust are not going to tax your current injectors, for instance. (Bigger injectors don't make power on their own.) A new fuel pump isn't necessary unless your old one is wearing out. Now, a bigger throttle body should make a slight difference, along with your intake and exhaust.

There is much to learn, Grasshopper.

Welcome to the Contour. I hope you enjoy it.

Here's a hint...go to Ebay and see what turns up when you search on "Duratec". Like, complete 3L motors for under $400, IIRC. You have to be patient and plan well, but you can get the job done.

If you're 17 and have no money maybe you should be happy with 170 crank hp. 225 fwhp takes a 3.0L swap/hybrid with headers, exhaust, intake, pnp, and then chip it.

There is a lot of love for the 95 SE - best stock suspension of any Contour (SVT is close), for instance: best LCAs, best springs, good rear bar. It's also lighter than later years. But building power is HARD on this engine, since it already has a great output.

Take about a week and just READ. You'll learn a lot.
