Well last Friday I took the wife to look for a new car, 1.8T Jetta they didnt have a new one but we drove a 1.8T GTI, great little car lots a power and trq.
On the way home I made her stop at the Ford Dealer and they had a new SVT Focus out front. We looked it over and my wife who hates the Fcous actually liked the looks of th SVT, it was black!

to make a long story short we drove the car, It was and is deserving of its badge. Its acceleration matches my tour to where I would guess top of third gear, then the tour feels like it pulls stronger, my car sounds way better with its borla and kkm, but thats it. The SVT Focus IMHO is superior in every other way , its brakes are simply awesome, like the six speed and shift feel, the build quality and interior materials are decades ahead of my tour. I would aslo say they are superior in design and feel to the VW especially the seats, the VW feels just a touch and only a touch more upscale, but it leaves you with a , my underware are too small feel , where as the SVT makes you feel like your going commando! laugh

ok so for those of us who are keeping their tours anyway, the Focus brings with it a sweet steering wheel, hope they fit. Also sill protectors billet with SVT logo not sure about these fiting but finger measurements say its pretty close. and lastly the wheels they look great, and at the price they are being tossed out for its a damn fine deal.

Ok so we didnt buy it, but its still a great car. Also got to look and drive a 01 Cobra 4500 miles and it was all mine for 26k OTD, only problem was its zinc yellow! oh well another story.

When the Focus SVT is running, it's a lot of fun to drive. The 2002 1.8T Jetta is also a flat out blast to drive. Try it some time.

I'm looking forward to test driving one. It's at the top of my "a crane fell on my car and crushed it" replacement list for my SVTour.

The recalls remind me how Jac Nasser (in his middle-eastern-ozzie accent) pronounced Focus:

Fok Us!

Man you must have one slow Contour...

All those mods and still as slow as a 16 second car... :p

Sure you don't have a ATX???

BTW - I'd take the Jetta over the Focus anyday... If it were my money that is...

2000 SVT #674 - Check it out!

I checked one out the other day. They wouldnt let me drive it(im sixteen). But I did sit in there and play around with all the buttons lol. The build quality of the car seems a ton better then that of my csvt. The shifter feels really good and I love the seats. The dealer keep trying to convince me it'd pull just as hard as the tour from third gear and up. I didnt believe him but if thats true then thats pretty cool for a N/A four banger

doctor say i need a backiotomi
