I spent some time on the 'tour today and it still won't start.
My initial suspicion was the fuel pump. For a quick test, I pulled the fuel rail back so I could watch the injectors spit. They did.
Next I used a tester for spark on the plugs. They all seemed fine. I already replaced the coil, but will be trying the original again, also.
Since the car just decided not to start for no good reason, I suspect the fuel may have been crappy. I sprayed some starter fluid into the TB, but nothing happened. I think part of that may be due to the crappy design of the intake manifold.
So I guess later on - if the weather holds out - I'll go check the timing. Roger mentioned that it's possible the belt could've slipped teeth when I shut it down.
Any other ideas are appreciated.

Is the timing belt worn or loose? How does the computer know when to fire the plugs on this engine? How is the engine compression?
Expose the throttle body when spraying in starting fluid. I once had a Taurus with a no start and turned out the spark was too weak to fire, even thought it looked pretty good in the air.

Does it sound different when turning over? That's what I've heard happens when the timing belt jumps.

Perhaps the voltage regulator on the alternator, although its tell tale sign is a clicking noise.

True. If it only jumped a couple of teeth it would probably sound pretty normal.
Mega fuse?

That was the weird thing.....my car sounded really weird due to the fact it wasn't starting, which was wearing down the battery, etc. It usually isn't the biggest thing first.....it is possible to jump teeth on the timing belt....but very unlikely. That is why I said check the most obvious thing first; the starter.

that's exactly what I'll be doing this weekend if the weather holds out. I'll make sure to update this thread.
EDIT: I guess I should point out the obvious (mistakenly thought I already had). The starter went from the normal sound to a constant shredding/shrieking sound. It still turns the motor, but probably not very well.
