I changed the intake on my car...and the1/2" copper pipe cap doesnt fit into new hose....and home depot doesnt have 1/4". I found some plastic cap in my garage that fits. Is plastic ok??

Not sure how well plastic would work. That thing gets pretty hot in there after driving for a while. Anyways, you should be able to find various sizes of them, I think. If you have a true value store, check there, that's where I got mine. Or maybe try Lowes?

I'm sure someone else can chime in too.

It's definetly 1/2" . Are you sure you have the right hose?

i got new intake.....came with new hose.....hence i need new copper cap............old hose doesnt fit onto new intake.........new hose narrower

new hose narrower.......may not need cap.........already smaller opening..........

....makes sense to me.....but maybe I'm wrong

but seriously, the new hose isnt narrow enough, there is throttle hang.

I agree, the problem with the old hose was that it let too much air through. If your new hose is not as wide, it may solve the problem. I don't have a copper cap in my SVT, I have several washers (I guess they are nickel) and they work fine (just make sure they can't get sucked in). Checked them out over the weekend actually and they have some slight discoloration, but no melting or anything like that.
