Unless it was advertised or otherwise put in writing that it has the original engine, I highly doubt it.




of course there is. that is plain misrepresentation and fraud. especially if the guy is telling you it is the original engine AND an svt engine. even if he is mistaken in thinking that is (innocent misrepresentation), and it really isnt, there is still the same recourse. if i were going to buy that car, i would definitely get all of what he is saying in writing. the fact that the motor has been swapped to one that is less desireable is a material fact. it defitinely would make the car worth less (or worthless).

you can try to investigate this car and use this info to talk him down to a lower price on the car but he sounds like the type of guy that is confident with what he is talking about and that he will have no problem selling it. which is probably true, unfortunately. someone who doesnt know csvts will probably come along and not even think twice about it. i probably wouldnt have when i was shopping for a csvt.
