So evidently the solvent was strong enough to completely remove the powdercoating from the upper intake, but it couldn't get carbon deposits off the lower? Sounds like BS to me.

And if he really is *THAT* anal, then surely he would be able to furnish receipts for the cleaning process & replacement LIM.
