Ok, I ran the OBD and no codes came up, removed the mode switch and A/C still engages. I then waited until the fans AND the compressor stopped and quickly removed the relay, now the fans and compressor do not operate. On a quick start-up check the fans came on for about 10 seconds and then shut off, the A/C remained off as expected. I think I'll be ok to drive in this condition for now until I can pinpoint the problem. At this point I'm leaning HARD towards the relay, no other component at least from what I could gather from the CD's would activate the compressor by itself. The high psi switch looks like it only controls the clutch engagement and links to fan operation. If by chance and this may be long shot... The system, if low on refrigerant or high in psi for some reason would cycle as some type of safety to prevent damage? This would go against every "common sense" scenario that I've enocuntered with vehicles but then again... it seems like when it comes to the blue oval it's no holds barred! Any thoughts?

There is a low pressure and high pressure cutoff switch for the a/c. There is no emergency on for the a/c. With No mode switch, a/c still went on, then fans/a/c stopped, very confusing. Try to measure the relay contacts with an ohmmeter, and the relay coil. Keep us posted.

Checked the relay with a 12v power supply and it operates fine, even removed the cover and everything looks good. Looks like there must be a short somewhere, I'll continue to eliminate possibilities, not what I was hoping for though! Dunno' if there's much else I can check with regard to switches and relays?

I found it! There's a short in the harness that runs along the drivers side fender, on a wim I started pressing on all the harnesses and got lucky enough to find it right off the bat! When I get home I'll open it up and hopefully the bastard will be easy to see. Many thanks to "Favorite Mystaque" for all your help. Without this board I would have had to poke around in the dark for all my tour problems, so once again Thanks to Lance (whoever he is) for keeping it going!!! Time to make a donation..... But how?
