That's the point I was about to make. There is a technique that road racing teams employ to keep the engine revs high while going through turns. You can spot what KaaD said on any big time road race series like Grand Am / ALMS.

Also, if you wanna creep over to the Supra forum, there was a pic posted of a Supra that was shooting 10 foot flames down the track... scary.
