There's your post, your topic, and your question at hand all in the subject.

I'm being offered a job in Kuwait.

The pay would be absolutely amazing. Housing, my vehicle, gas, utilities, and amenities are all 100% covered. Pay is tax-free. paid vacation days, plus vacation cash every year. (some $3500 a year, on top of the paid vacation days..)

Sign on bonus, completion bonus, etc. all sound good to me. I'd be able to provide well for my new family, and my wife would be able to stay home and raise our little girl the way she deserves to be raised. (by "stay home", I mean in Kuwait with me...)

Anyone have any input, advice, thoughts, or insults?

More information if anyone needs it..

Thanks.

Ray

Kuwait? Hell yeah, take it. I mean, check out the State Department website to see if there are any advisories on Kuwait, but as far as I know, it's not a hotbed of trouble. How long a period would it be? Open-ended? I think it'd be a great big adventure to live and work in a foreign country like that.

I am assuming they have private american schools over there for your daughter (if you stay for a while, she isn't going to start school any time soon). I am not sure how long you are planning on staying, but it sounds like a good deal.

As long as you still have internet and can make how-to's. J/K

that is 3,500.00 That isn't the pay.. that is vacation cash...

The stats would be as follows:

flight over there (me and the family both) - paid for
3bdrm/2bth 2700-3200sq/ft house - paid for
vehicle - paid for
gasoline, utilities, and ammenities (cable, highspeed, phone, etc..) - paid for

Tax free income on the first $80,000.00 I'd have to pay taxes on the other 100,000.00

25 vacation days paid, plus that 3,500 cash to use. Sign on bonus of $5000.00 and a completion bonus (stay a year.. open ended contract) of another 1500.00 a month. (another 18,000.00)

I'm looking at making about 198,000, plus vacation cash, and all bills paid.

The wife would be allowed to savvy-up on the job stuff, and work there too, doubling our income. (happens nearly every time a couple goes over there, from what the director says, as well as the guy I know over there)

Thanks for the comments.. My wife is excited, but scared.. afraid of any danger there may be... (and how hot it is.. )

dude, milk it for all its work. 4 years of working for 200k + with no expenses and then move back to the states when your daughter is ready to start school. If you don't do it, pm me for my information so I can go instead

Even give a gun to the cat when you're not there.
