do u think the coilovers will be any similar i dunno why i just somehow though they might..if not do u know of any other cars coilovers will fit.i knew that when i had a geo storm,civic coilovers would fit.so there must be a coilover built the same or something..with the same shock style or something

this is critical, because if you are on crack, yes they may fit. However if your body is not suffering from the effects of coke you may notice that they definately...do not.
also... why not just get some coilovers for a 'tour

Settle down, guys. Lot's of grassroots hybrids out there.
Volvo heads on a Ford 2.3L Turbo.
BMW 320 brake calipers on a Porsche 914.
BMW Guibo on a Merkur XR4Ti.
Etc.
Who was the first to figure out this stuff? Why would they have even tried? Maybe crack isn't so bad, after all.
Anyway, the question is whether there are any out-of-family junkyard finds that might swap to this car, and the answer is, apparently, nobody's gone there yet. (Maybe the Contour is just not old enough.)

well think about it this way the ones u buy off ebay..are the same as another car hands down..no way did somebody go and make coilovers JUST for a contour....my buddy has an integra and his said it would fit Jetta's integra's civic's etc...it all depends on the diametre of the top of the strut i think or the way it sits on the bottom..i will check and see if the part number on the contour coilovers are the same as somethign else has to be

............and it also depends on the weight of the car...i'm not sure you want to put springs that were meant for a 2400lb car on a car pushing 31-3200 lbs..

Dude STFU - you have no idea. Just cos your "buddy" tells you something doesn't make it true. sheesh.
Sure, some compaonents make LOOK similar from first appearances, but diameters, lengths, spring rates, the number of coils etc, will be different AND make a difference.
But seeing your other ghetto-ass mods so far, I'm guessing I'm talking to a brick wall. Go ghetto-rize your car further for all I care, but please stop talking BS.

i wasnt going to do it.. haha woa i sense a little wood going on here..i jsut wanted to see if somebody heard something or if it is possible..but since not then i wont haha no big deal..but with the ghetto ass mods thing...im only 19 and living on my own trying to scrap money for school..trust me when im 22 i wont be driving a pos..this car will last me till next year then its going to the junkyard..the only reason why i even did the mods i did was cause i wanted to make myself feel better about driving a mercury..and i liek the way it looks so far with the way i painted the chrome..etc and the intkae sounds good and never failed me..if i can make an intake then i will why pay 3 times the amount for one..pointless..but thankx for ur imput..

that might just be the worst case of grammer on CEG..even worse than most of my posts..
