Im just starting to notice this, i think....

At times, it seems like theres some kind of heat seeping thru the floor, specifically the area around the gas pedal. At first i just figured it was nothign; its been really hot here recently and i always drive with windows down, no ac.

I reached down, and didnt really feel any air blowing around, so i dont think its from the HVAC system, which is never even on...

Lately my exhaust has been sounding a bit louder, maybe theres an exhuast leak around that area??

Sometimes I've found my AC/heat to "drift" through the lower vents without any sort of pressure to it. I think it's normal..

But, check the exhaust anyways. You'd smell a hint of fumes if it's a newly formed hole.

any tricks to checking for exhaust leaks, besides just sticking the hand around? I was thinking bout spraying a little soapy water on the pipes and watching for bubbles, but i doubt it will work...

The thing is, i cant always feel the heat on my feet...it comes and goes

If you are in stop/go traffic, the heat under the car from the catalyst will heat the floor metal. Make sure the heat shields are in place, and you have no check engine light on. If the cel is on, the catalyst might get hotter from more fuel burned. Using the A/C might not be a bad idea, if it's working

I just started to get this same problem with mine. Got me going crazy trying to understand where the heat is coming from. It only happened twice in the past month, but I'm worried about it.

this past time i noticed it, i was just leaving the gym. I got straight onto the expressway and got to about 75mph. It wasn't stop and go at all, just start it up and hit the highway.

Would an exhuast or exhaust manifold leak bring about a CEL? I dont think ive ever seen a single CEL the whole time ive owned the car...

It could lead to the dreaded P0420 and P0430 code.

I've always had heat down by my floor as well. I assumed it was normal in these cars because my Mystique used to do the same thing.

Mine has always done it. Never been as noticeable as it was when I had the car running at 3500 rpms for 7 hours straight earlier this week (Vegas to SLC). That pedal was starting to get pretty warm.
