I messed up big time on this whole thing. I reported it to my buddy in the PD. As of now, nothing can be done even though I have a copy of the hard drive. The police need the actual computer, but unfortunately, the computer was picked up before I talked to him.
He said a copy of the hard drive is no good because there is no actual proof it's his hard drive. They would of needed to grab the computer.
I will soon be passing this along to the FBI to see if someone up there can do something. If not, his *ss is grass the next time he comes into the store, and I have a little feeling he will be coming back.
I know this feeling well... Working for Xerox for almost 6 years, I came across alot of weird crap behind copiers and on copiers. I have some pretty funny stories, but that is besides the point.
But I will say this... Remember the Chinese guy that leaked the nuke secrets to his nationals back home? It was a Xerox tech that found the missing hard drive inside the backside of a 265 copier that made the difference. The tech found the drive inside the machine and handed it over, to officals, with rubbing gloves on.
Point is... There is a protical that is covered by all good technicians and it is call, "C-Ya!" Cover Your ---!
