We had this same exact problem at Best Buy, Child-Porn infected PC requested a Databackup, the tech doing that found child porn, he told the management, management called the Police, police conficated the computer, and left a note saying for customer to contact the PD Detective. It was funny cus it was a high end Sony Vaio, Sad part is this guy i heard had kids... Young kids.... That disgusts me... I hope the cop has him arrested and kids taken away.
But yes, Notify the management/supervisor.

have him busted at the shop and have the media there to "go live" that way, your boss gets paid, the guy goes to jail, your company gets free advertising and you become the hero.   seriously though, talk to the po-po asap. let them decide which is the best route to take.

Record the date of the last file access. That way if he claims to have just bought the computer on X day, you can claim that he accessed them after X day.
