I was going to attempt that but too hard to locate for sure where to cut. Last thing I wanted to do was rip out carpet and start cutting holes in my floor.
Worked easier for me to cut from the outside. There is actually a tiny hole to put your finger inside and feel the bolt. That's how we knew mine was spinning and not tightening.
