I'm putting in a new PS Rack.
So yesterday I took everything apart. Catalytic bolts were gone so had to snap them off, gonna have to get a new Y pipe. Oops. Got two front subframe bolts off with not problem, went to take front off and they feel like they are slipping inside a nut. The passenger side is down more than driver, but both just spin in place and do not budge. Even with pressure down on the washer as I turn they just thread in place.
So I am thinking about cutting them off. I was going to cut the heads off first, lower the subframe and complete the rack switch. Then cut the remaining part thats sticking out but for the bit remaining in there I do know what to do. I can't find the bolts anywhere online so I may have to order them from a ford dealership.
Any recommendations. I haven't removed them yet cause I'm concerned about getting that remaining bit out of there. Thanks for your help.

Almost the same thing happened to mine. I went to tighten the last bolt down, and it just spun and got no tighter.
We had to cut a small hole in the chassis to expose the bolt. I didn't get a good look at it because I wasn't really the one that did it but I think the rear bolts on the subframe are pinched with something similar to sheet metal. I thought it was a nut that broke free from a weld, but no. So we just moved the metal back in place to hold the end of the bolt, and tightened down. Worked perfectly.
Just covered the hole with a piece of metal, welded it shut, and sprayed a little black paint on it. Can never tell it was cut.
Someone will probably post an easier way but that was all I could think to do.

from what I can see, easiest way is to lift up carpet, cut through tin, hold nut with wrench and remove on bolt head with another wrench or socket. I will most definitely be doing this, seeems easier.

I was going to attempt that but too hard to locate for sure where to cut. Last thing I wanted to do was rip out carpet and start cutting holes in my floor.
Worked easier for me to cut from the outside. There is actually a tiny hole to put your finger inside and feel the bolt. That's how we knew mine was spinning and not tightening.

Yes, that's the best way.
