Misfiring, at about 40mph in 4th 2300 rpm, my sister's Mystique did that, surging sensation. A sparkplug had a carbon track which made the sparks go outside the plug. Maybe you just have a loose wire or need new plugs/wires. Autolite double plats (not sure what SVT needs).
