yes, there was noticable amount of wear on the entire part. and the bearing wasnt turning right. Probably could have waited for another 20,000 or so miles, but now i feel better knowing a) that it had already been change, and b) that I have a new one in there, plus changed thermostat and basicall flushed the coolant.

I also replaced my cracked resivoir. so think its good to go.
