When I turn on the AC, It smells like something is burning. Kinda like plastic, but I'm not sure. The smells come out very strong sometimes. Most of the time the smell isn't there. I can smell it on Max AC,AC, and Panel. I recently changed the Cabin Filter. All my Lo to Hi fan speeds work just fine. I had my exhaust checked, and they said it looked ok.

Even though all my fan speeds work fine, could this smell be related to the resistor pack being bad or what else could it be?

I really need to find out what is wrong before it gets worse.

Usually, if it is the resistor, the fan only goes on high. If you want to check if it is melted, then

Also if you have any oil leaks you can smell oil burning on the exhaust coming through the vents.

Ditto!! All it takes is a drop of oil on the exhaust to make it smell through the vents.

And Big Jim has the test for that smell.

If I were you I would check the fusebox to see if a fuse is melting. It may not be blown yet, but it may be melting the plastic around it. Check it and let us know what you found.

I'll try this first.

Try dripping a little oil from the dipstick on a hot exhaust manifold, followed by some coolant. See if you can identify which of the two odors your are smelling. All burning oils smell pretty much the same, engine oil, power steering fluid, and transmission fluid. Some have reported that Mobil 1 has a bit stronger smell than conventional oil, but it is still close.

Then I'll try to find any leaks. Although I wouldn't know where to look.
Where could I look?

I'll also check my fuses and the resistor pack.

Maybe I'll find something. Thanks.
