Okay, getting my Koni's and doing them this weekend. When I replace my struts I am most likely going to mess up my alignment. Here is my problem.

Right now my alignment sucks. Ive accidentally worn the inside of my drivers side front tire down to bald. Its starting to do it on my replacement tire.

If I get an alignment today after work, and go replace my struts ( messing up the alignment) will they honor their 6 month warranty?

Can they tell if it wasnt road conditions that messed the alignment up (we have horrible roads here in Texas)

Also, do Pep Boys install customer struts? I can do the rears I just dont want to do the fronts.

I'd rather have a retard install my struts than someone at Pep Boys...just my .02 for the day.

I've heard that the rears are by far the easiest. Maybe I was wrong. I guess I will do it all myself. It will probably take me Saturday and Sunday...but hey its free!

But what about the alignment? Do you think they will honor the warranty or just say no because my alignment will be so far off?

Rears are definitely easier... All you do is unbolt the two bolts that hold the strut hat into the strut tower (look up in the tower, from the wheel well and you'll see what I mean). Unbolt the strut-knuckle pinch bolt and drop the knucle down, leaving everything else intact... My struts/springs in the rear were so bad that I pulled them out effortlessly. One coil was completely broken on one side...

The fronts, you have pull the knuckle out of the ball joint, which was a pain for me, if you live up north or anywhere they use salt in the winter be sure to use a good penetrating oil on the bolts/nuts that you will need to remove. When you put it all back together be sure to use something like Anti-seize or lubriplate... So if you ever have to do the job again, you won't have to fight to get the bolts out...
