well crap. Yeah it would be about time then. Its got about 85k miles in it. Is there an EASY way to tell if it was done? (this is a rethorical question cause I know ill have to pull it off.)

Now I have seen the how to on how to do this on the main site.

Next question, is it replacing the WHOLE waterpump or just the impellar? Do we have a part number for just the impellar and anyone know the cost? I see there is a part number for a belt on the how to but nothing else.

the water pump is a piece of cake... except for removing the gasket. You can get a new pump with a metal impellar from SPMotorsports

Try Autozone or NAPA, or an ac/delco parts dealer, for the metal impeller pump. A white plastic pump from should be OK too, like the one Ford supplies now, if you can't find metal.

Just as a clarification, if your WP was going bad, the temp variations wouldn't last very long - AFAIK that warning sign only lasts a couple of days at most (then it will go into the red and stay there when the pump fails completely). Check your heater to see if it's blowing hot (tough to tell in hot weather, unfortunately). Also, if you do replace the WP, don't forget to throw in a new thermostat as well (it's nearby and you might as well do it since you'll have some coolant drained).
