Yes indeed! It is fun.

Plus someone always has a JRSC for sale over on the focaljet forums. Except for the tuning, it's practically a bolt on. Just ask Hector.

Personally, turbo for me. None of that changing pulleys crap to up the boost.

IIRC:
you can launch at whatever rpm you need to so you're boosting, and of course every time you shift when getting on it, you'll still be above 3k rpm in the next gear
supercharger has a certain rpm it makes full boost at, IIRC usually a lower rpm than the turbo, but it still has to start spinning to really be of use

It depends on the turbo size as well. A T3 Super 60 will start building boost by 2000rpms and will be at full boost around 4500rpms or sooner. AFAIK, a supercharger doesn't reach peak boost until redline.

Just my .02

BTW, here's a JRSC over at focaljet for $1800. (you may have to register to see it)

Supercharger on a zetec? pass

turbo or nitrous would be more cost effective and make more power IMO.

True, but you can't beat the ease of installation.

Turbo = expensive, hard to install, need to find a place for an IC, hard to tune, and hard on engine (really should upgrade internals). Yes it does produce more HP/TQ than SC.
SC = cheaper than turbo or a high power NA buildup, easier install, no IC required, easier to tune, and easier on engine.
Nitrous = cheap in the short term but requires refills, very easy to install, very easy to tune, really good power increase, but its not all the time power.
NA = for any real power (beyond 170HP) its just not worth it.

must admit i am well happy with the jackson supercharger setup on my zetec. no teething probs (touchwood) and its hardly effected fuel economy like a turbo would have done (remember fuel costs the earth here in UK)

sounds brilliant, and has loadsa power on tap from any revs in any gear. it makes driving normal cars seem pointless!
