I'm trying to get an idea of what my little 'tour SE with the I4 2.0 will do in 0-60 and the 1/4 mile. I know, I know - the car's charming, but no road runner - why would I need to know that??

I'm looking for a point of reference while searching for a new car.

Any thoughts?

16.5-18.5 1/4 mile time

Then it's on the slower side of that.
Just about any car you get will be faster. Get something with a manual and you'll be ahead right away.

I can confirm the 0-60 is in that range. Mine did a 13.73 with my friend running the stopwatch in the passenger-side seat. I haven't made a run at the track yet...

You turbo it up or put a SC with some mild boost, it will feel nice. My dad just turbo'd his Focus ZX3 pushing 5psi and 140whp and 160wtq and it feels decent compared to stock, but in stock form the car is just slow.

It's even worse for the Contour. The front suspension setup is lousy for the 1/4, don't even get it if you care about that. But if you boost it up(turbo preferably for more TQ), and put some nice suspension it's a nice car to drive. Among the best in it's segment. But for max power forget it.

If I had it to do all over again, SC and a good suspension setup (also a brake upgrade) is the way to go for the Contour.
That will make the car a very enjoyable experience.

on our cars yes.....turbo spools up at a certain rpm usually at 3000....while as a supercharger doesnt, so the power is there from start to finish.....corect me if im wrong guys....

SC would be my preference for a fun daily driver Contour with a Zetec engine. Of course, in an MTX though.

If had a Focus or a SVT Contour, turbo would be the way to go.
