Yeah, drunk drivers are all idiots, the guy was like "if you want to beat the sh*t outta me, I won't press charges". Tempting. So I went out and looked at it today, I'll need three new rims and tires, the frame is pushed up under the rear door just a little, but it still opens, the rear quarter panel will need replacing, the bumper, my side skirts, and whatever the hell else that happened under my car will also need to be fixed, and for some reason she doesn't like shifting into reverse... Thanks for all the support though, I really hate to see another CSVT fall. -Alex

some drunk came down the block i park my car on at night once...hit every car on the block except mine - luckily. It was right in the middle too. Judging by the rear wheel, the damage looks bad. Sucks man.

I would expect them to total the car.
Just the bumpers and skirts plus painting are 2k and that's around half the BB of the car. If the unibody is bent that's pretty much a guarantee it's totaled.
The insurance will want to get your wholesale BB value. IF YOU FIGHT you can get them up to retail value. That's probably a 1k difference in the final check.

I honestly have no sympathy towards a drunk driver, they deserve more than they get
Sorry bout your car. That doesn't look too good. Hope they don't total it and if they do, hope you get your money's worth. That [censored] deserves to rot for a while. Lucky he didn't kill anybody. I hate drunk drivers! Best of luck mang!

I hope your car is repairable, but unfortunately, with it being unibody,it may not look bad from the outside, but once you get under it and start checking everything out, that's where the bad things pop up. If it's worth it to get the car fixed,I would go for it,only because it's an SVT. Had it been just a regular Contour like mine,as pissed as I'd be,I'd let them give me the cheque, but because it's an SVT it's worth saving if possible. Too many SVT's are dying.
