In an interview that he did a while back he came out and said when my records don't sell anymore then i'll retire.

BTW: 2pacs image wasn't all that great to begin with.
Just about everyone in the RAP business has an image to die for (Nice choice of words)

eminem retiring? how lame. he is one of the richest rappers though, IIRC i saw some MTV/VH1 special talking about rich/famous people, and in some year he made like $24 million through various things (album, shows, signing new artists, etc). I think it's really bogus that they bow out once they get rich, they owe it to the fans that made them rich to keep going.

What, no intelligent remark to backup your statement? Being what, 14 years old I'm sure you have something, everyone is dieing to hear?

I don't see why everyone has so much hate towards him. I think he has a Dave Chapelle way about himself. He's not afraid to say what he means, whether it be about sex, race, money, drugs etc., and has a humorous way about sending his message(through his music). Sure, his profanity is a little(ok a lot) excessive, but atleast he has something to say that doesn't involve rims, Escalades and hoes, layed over a crappy beat.

....you also have to look at it this way, when you've lost touch with your roots,i.e, what made you the type of rapper you are,you should retire,or do what snoop did and change genres...people like 50cent etc, that've moved out of the ghettos, who arent in gangs anymore, etc, shouldnt be doing songs about it those things anymore...so in m's case,he's disconnected from his mom, kim, and he now lives in a gated community...whats he gonna rap about? money and cars...its not him..

Just shows that rap can't last as long as Rock

Pink Floyd has been around since around forever, Started in the 60's and yet they still [censored] sound great when they are live

Long Live Rock n' Roll!!!

I think it's a good idea for him to retire like that.
That's the point for retiring anyway right?
to finally take a break and enjoy life without having to work your darn ass off all the time.
Too bad most people have to wait til their late 60's to pull it off.
He owes nothing to the fans. He gave them music and they bought it and enjoyed it. They're equal in my mind.

I also think it's a good idea to get out when you've peaked rather than be a has-been scrambling to still be at the top. Kinda like how Seinfeld stopped making episodes.

I've never bought eminem records or listened to many of his songs, but I've always admired his attitude and his approach.
kudos to him.

When they are live?! WTH? Roger Waters last played with them in 1980. I liked there music still but still not as great as with him. I guess the last year was '94 for the Division Bell Tour though. 11 years ago! LOL!

just saw something on MTV dismissing the rumors, they said they contacted his record label and they said "uh, no..."
