I asked myself the same question. I am putting in some Pioneer 6x8s in when I do my rear deck and was looking at multichannel amps, they are not cheap so I decided to stick with the 23x4 or so RMS watts out of the HU. Most put out about 25x4 or so with a peak of 50x4. Most of what I found was 30 or 40 watts and really I don't think I need to spend the extra money for not that much more power, but I will default to CEG. So CEG, will you notice a diff between amp and no amp on in door speakers in general?
