I do not know much about car audio however, I as offered a great deal on Infinity Kappa speakers. $89 a pair. Only problem is I would have to get 2 different sizes...

I was told I could get 5x7's and 6x8's. I can only get 1 set of each size.

Just making sure, will these all fit my car? or with minor modification? I will be paying to have them installed but it would just suck to have a place tell me that they cannot do it for some reason.

Also, I was wondering if I were to get 5x7's and 6x8's... where should I put each one? I heard it would be better to have the 6x8's in the back and 5x7's in the front.

I really do not know.. I am extremely dumb when it comes to car audio and looking to learn as much as I can here. I also am planning on buying an amp to power them. How powerful of an amp will I need... all that I know is that I should get a 4 channel amp but not sure how powerful.

anyways, I hope someone can help me with this problem and answer my questions.. It would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, I also just got my contour and loving it! It's my first car and I'm only 17...so I've got lots to learn.. any advice would be great.

Both will fit. Read the stickie at the top of this forum and it will have your answers. I'd put the 6x8 up front and the 5x7's in the back.

You won't notice a significant difference between the two, and yes they will both fit.

I bought some Blaupunkt 5x7 speakers a long time ago. They didn't have mounting tabs that lined up with the original 6x8 holes. So if they're like this, you'll have to drill some holes to make them fit tight (they'll still fill up the 6x8 hole).

Not to mention they were piece of crap speakers. They had the clear blue woofer. I was pretty dumb back then...

No more than 50 watts per channel as long as it is a decent amp, for example Phoenix Gold or Alpine.

the kappas are straight....not very bassy though, just a sidenote

but the 5x7/ 6x8 should simply bolt in!

nothing difficult

Thanks again... and one more dumb question (sorry guys)...

would this amp do the trick? http://www.millionbuy.com/lnzvibe418.html

I think it's a good deal.. what do you guys think? Will I have any problems if I pick this up to power my speakers? or should I keep looking for something different? I know it is a little more powerful than what you said to get at no more than 50 watts per channel... but really, I know nothing... so anythng to help would be nice.

I don't know much so CEG Gods correct me if I am wrong but if you put that much power to those speakers you are going to screw them up. With any wire setup you use you will be way to powerful.

ok thanks... I thought they may have been too powerful... just having a hard time finding the right amp... without screwing up my speakers and still getting the best out of them. Do you think I even really need an amp for them?
