I see all kinds of cars come through there, and it just amazes me. yea, gas is up, but we're 5-15 cents cheaper than everyone else. people come through with $80k cars, and put in REGULAR gas! guy had a classic, restored Studabaker (sp?), put in regular. woman had a new Mercedes, put in regular. then, someone comes through in a 1991 camry and puts in premium, like, wtf?!
sorry, it just amazes me...and then people coming in see we only have regular/premium, and they usually put in midgrade, and ask me what to put in. "well what is your car supposed to take?"-----"I dunno". "so why do you put in midgrade?"----"isn't it better?"
Premium gasoline is not always better than regular gasoline. Premium gas burns more slowly so performance engines with higher compression ratios require premium gas. High performance engines will have preignition (knock) without premium high octane fuel. Regular gas is just as good as premium for most engines.
