I dont know what the Mercedes or the Studabaker need for gas but IIRC older camrys call for premium fuel.

I understand, but I've never heard of a new mercedes (it was the wanna be SUV/jeep lookin one, don't remember the model #) that took 87 octance, maybe I'm wrong. I see people do this all day, in all different types of cars. from beemers to hoopdies.

they pay anyone who works for their company $10/hr, and that was the only spot they had an opening for. the raises are based on # of hours worked (I think it's like every 880). it's ok, don't be jealous

My employer has [censored] all to do with this discussion so if you want to discuss it, take it to PM or shut the [censored] up.

I'm not slagging him, I'm slagging the company that will pay somebody $10/hr for doing almost nothing. Remind me not to shop at Costco.

So I take it you're paid less than $10/hr to wear that stupid blue smock ? HAHA. Walmart's slaving your punk ass and you dont' even know it.

I don't know why you'd not shop there just because they pay their people well? In my experience they have the lowest prices on stuff of the big retailers around here. That includes: Walmart, Sams Club, BJs wholesale and other places like biglots, kmart and the like. If anything, i'd want to frequent them more since they are helping people out and I am getting good prices while I am at it.

cut it out, none of that is necessary. There's no need to turn this thread into another crapfest.

I was surprised too when he said he got paid $10/hr as a fuel jockey. Props to him though!

What part of my employer not being the issue here did you not understand? Is your English comprehension that bad?

I won't shop there because I don't feel that paying people $10/hr to watch people use their credit cards to fuel their cars is a good use of money. You pay some schlep $10/hr to do nothing and he thinks he's entitled to $10/hr anywhere he works. Then all his friends think they're entitled to $10/hr to do nothing all day. Thats why it's so hard to find decent workers, they hear stories like this and think they should get $10/hr as a starting position. Then they do a half assed job when they don't. That's my opinion which will not change so don't bother debating.

I had a 1989 Camry and it didn't call for premium gas. Mine was a 4 cyl, perhaps the six required it?

A few months ago, I believe it was in February, Mercedes, Porsche, BMW, GM and a few other manufacturers came out stating that the only reason their cars are labeled "Premium Fuel Only" is simply for the Panache, and that their cars would run just fine on 87 octane with no detriment to the vehicle and no drop in gas mileage. Porsche even stated the Boxster runs better on regular than on Premium. The article was mosted on cnn.com and even in Time, but I don't care enough to search it out.
