Do you apply Z2 right on top of Z1 like the Z1 instructions say, or do you remove like any other coat of wax?

Instuctions say to apply Z2 after Z1, and remove together, so how are you guys going from Z1 directly to Z5?

Joey,

Forgive me, I've never used the product, I just know what I read! Thanks for the advice.

The Z1 is what they call a Polish Lok (not a typo, straight from the bottle)

Straight from the "Zaino Bible (their website):

"For optimum results Z-1 Polish Lok™ must be used before applying Show Car Polishes Z-2, Z-3 or Z-5. A unique non-abrasive formulation for regular and clear-coated paint finishes. Z-1 Polish Lok™ is not your typical pre-cleaner, like everyone else sells, but a very special base-coat foundation for all our Show Car Polishes. It is designed to chemically neutralize any polish, wax and paint surface contaminants. It deep cleans, conditions and prepares paint finish for Show Car Polish. Forms an optically perfect, flat molecular bond between paint and polish to increases light refraction and reflectivety.

Z-1 Polish Lok™ interacts chemically when it comes in contact with Show Car Polish to dramatically heighten the "wet-looking", mirror gloss and lock in the durability of gloss and protection shield. Apply a thin coat of Z-1 Polish Lok™ with a 100% cotton cloth to the entire vehicle, no rubbing is necessary, DO NOT WIPE OFF. Follow directions on Show Car Polish, and apply directly over hazed Z-1 Polish Lok™. Z-1 Polish Lok™ is recommended twice a year on everyday vehicles and once a year on show cars. One eight ounce bottle of Z-1 Polish Lok™ will do approximately eight mid-size cars."

I know it seems weird or not like regular waxes, but remeber this is not your regular polish. Kinda like leaving the car in the sun to bake after applying, anothre no-no with wax, but a definate with Zaino.

I know we may seem crazy, but you can't argue with the results!! Check my sig for some super shiny pics!!

So about how many oz. of each product does it take for one coat? From the sound of the text about the Z1, 1 oz. is enough to do the whole car (once). Is this consistent with the other products?

Just want to know exactly how much of this stuff I'll really need... it's pretty darn expensive! wink

1 ounce is about how much you will use. You cannot see it very well while applying it, so trust yourself in knowing it is there, instead of reapplying it over and over in the same spot. You will seee it when it dries. Also, spray the applicator pad with some Z-6 before you apply any of the polishes like the Z-1, Z-2, Z-5. It makes it so you get more ease of application on them while applying them. And last but not least...

USE 100% COTTON TOWELS!!!
