It is best to. Mine shakes a good bit but even when I managed to max out the GL speedo, it stayed on. It did eventually vibrate so much that the latch loosened and fell down and I had to retighten it to be able to close the hood.

And about fitment. I had to move my latch, lower the hood stops and cut them to get them even lower, and move the fenders some. Fairly easy but takes a bit of time to get it all looking good.

what i ment was that i have not seen a CF hood in person on a contour and i would like to see how it latches...

and yes i do live under a rock, its a 105 degrees today!!

i put mine where the bump stops are, no drilling except for through the cf
