Last week I was in my friend's car in the highway. He forgot to turn on the AC and we were like at 50 Mph, so he move off the highway to brake, and then he turned on the AC. That was too exaggerated for me, but he said that turning on the AC in high speeds can damage the motor.
Is this true? Or it doesn't affect it at all.

i have heard of it before but the AC has a clutch in it so it shouldn't matter.
how about running full throttle up a hill with the AC on, the AC is turned off in this case and then comes back on when you release WOT, so that would be like turning it on over 45 mph

The oil in the compressor tends to settle, and turning it on at speed can cause it to turn on with no oil.. there was a thread with a reply by Big Jim, within the week or two, stating this exact thing.

Doesn't the compressor cycle on and off while you drive? Wouldn't that cause damage each time it cycles?

I've also been told that the oil in the AC manifold is constantly circulated, even when the compressor clutch is disengaged.
Silly. Just silly.
