I have a 1997 contour and want to lower my car using the H&R sport springs. When I checked the H&R website I noticed that Contours 1997 and up use the springs model # 29774. Contours 1995-96 use the 29907 model. Why is this? The body of the Contour changed in 1998 so why would a 97 use the same springs. Shouldn't a 97 tour use the same springs as a 95 or 96? Please help.

I'd guess that's a typo on their part. 95 - 97 used the same suspension setup. They changed the spring perch in 98. You'll want to get new struts when you install the springs, so just go for the 95 - 96 springs from H&R and get struts designed for 95 - 97 cars.

If you have a four cylinder, www.spmotorsports.com is selling Eibach springs for 95 - 97 Zetecs for $169 right now. About a $50 discount.
