Will 235/40/17 fit on a 7" wide wheel? And will it rub, I believe the wheel's (st200) offset is 49? Thanks verrry very very much.

Generally you need an 8" wheel for a 235 size tire. All I can tell you is check the recommended size requirements for that specific tire (usually cheaper tires have less stringent requirements than more expensive tires) and look at what other people are running. I know that my 235/17's work on both my ATS' and Velox wheels but I did need to roll the rears.

Thanks. They do recommend a 8"+ wheel. I reckon I'll just go 225. The 235 weighs less, more accurate to stock diameter, and is only $1 more per tire, but I don't wanna deal with any rubbing or an ill-fitting tire.

I am running 225/40s on my 18" rims and they are 7" wide. I don't think 10 more millimeters would donut out that much. It's a small gamble either way you look at it.

The tire manufacturer can play a bigger role than actual tire size - atleast what they deem to put on their sidewall. Simply because one tire will fit on x size wheel doesn't mean another brand will. Do your homework and you'll be fine.

I'm sure I could make it fit the wheel but I think it's probably better to stay closer to what's recommended and it would also probably rub which is my main concern. I'd actually like 225/40/17 but only nitto 555s come in that size.

What do you mean " "??? Isn't that 555 a drag radial

The 555R is a drag radial. It won't exactly last long on the street. The 555 is a summer tire, but with sorta low tread wear and according to some people on here, the fuzion will have the same/better traction.

235/40/17 will fit fine on a 17" wheel. Buddy of mie has 235/40/17's in Yoko ES100's on his CSVT with FSVT 5-star wheels. No rubbing at all and he has never rolled his fenders.
