Generally you need an 8" wheel for a 235 size tire. All I can tell you is check the recommended size requirements for that specific tire (usually cheaper tires have less stringent requirements than more expensive tires) and look at what other people are running.
I know that my 235/17's work on both my ATS' and Velox wheels but I did need to roll the rears.
