I am at work, w/ a couple of deadlines blown again so I'm gonna make it short. My last O2 sensor took 3 weekends instead of 1 hour I allocated. things take longer than you anticipate. Even if you do something you did before. Sometimes it's enough to drop a 7mm socket on the subframe to push everyting back by 30 minutes (took a small magnet and taped it to my finger to get it out in the end). Yeah it's funny now

LOL. Yes, if you can see it, you can do the magnet trick. I dropped a socket in the vicinity of the PS redervoir, and the RH pulleys a month or so ago, and have not located it yet. Heard a clunk and then tried to look, too dark, took a flashlight, still could not locate it. Had to use another one from the "spares" or I would still be looking for it. Haven't heard any new noise in the right front yet, so maybe it dropped out in one of my bumpy drives. Yes, sometimes things take longer than they should. LOL.

alright well the old boy was right, the alternator was shot, and this 9 hours thing is still kinda crazy. the dealer did the alternator, trans fluid flush, and fuel pump recall in about 4 hours and for just under $400, not too bad of a deal. I know, if it were my car I would have done it myself too but since my sister is the princess she gets hers done NOW! BTW: How hard was that O2 sensor, I'm doin mine this weekend but my dad got a whole bunch of special sockets from work to make it "easier", so we'll see how that goes. Thanks again
Anyone wanna sell an SVT Tour Rear Bumper?!!

I just changed mine today. I started getting the flickering battery light when the revs got around 6k. What a pain. This job would definitely be easier if you had a lift. I decided to go the route of removing the y-pipe to get at it; I did read Ray's how-to, which was very helpful, but I put on a new y-pipe not that long ago, so I knew it would be an issue removing it. It took about 4 hours to do by myself and I've got two nice cuts on my hands as a reward. I hope I never have to change one again.

Wow you did get a deal. That's not a bad price at all from a stealership. I've heard ppl pay $600 just for the alt.

Shoot I dropped a socket into the rear subframe area about two years ago and only just now found it! Nice to get it back though.

That's funny.. I was under there, and saw something, yesterday. I take a look and its a socket dropped in the subframe at the rear, just about where the manifolds are. perfectly square opening the exact width of the socket, and nothing more. I still can't get it out! getting a magnet today.
