I'm offically a troll.
I had too many problems with my Contour. I liked the car when it worked, but it always had something wrong with it. The last time I took it to school, the PATS malfunctioned and it was only by the grace of God I got the car started.
I was looking at putting about a grand into the car because I needed all new weatherstripping, a new driver's rear doorlock motor, battery, wipers, and the flywheel was starting to warp and needed to be replaced. Plus, I wasn't comfortable with the plastic impeller waterpump, and so I wanted that changed.
I was seriously considering putting the money into the car. Then I found out, in a wayward way, that my car had been sitting in deep standing water before I bought it from my local Ford dealer. Needless to say, I wasn't pleased with that.
The more and more I thought about it, the less reasonable it seemed to pour money into a Contour that I could never really get all the gremlins out of. Plus I was starting to look at the things the car lacked that I really wanted like a folding rear seat and ABS.
So I went and custom ordered a 2005 Corolla LE. It is silver with a grey interior. It has power windows/locks/mirrors. A auto dimming rear view mirror with compass, and an outside temperature gauge. It also has a 6 disc in-dash changer, ABS, 15" alloy wheels, a sunroof, keyless entry, a passive anti-theft system, folding rear seat, optitron gauges, and smart airbags that work in conjunction with the seatbelt pretensioners.
I like the car, it meets my needs for a comfortable, economical, and reliable car. It doesn't preform or handle like the Contour, and don't get me wrong, I don't have any passion for this car, it just meets my needs right now really well. Besides, I leased it, so as soon as College is done, it's gone.
I know I went over to the dark side, and that a lot of you guys here aren't so fond of Japanese cars, let alone Japanese economy cars, and I'm not posting this to start anything about Japanese vs. American cars. I just wanted to let everyone know that I probably won't be on here as much anymore, but that while I was on here alot, I really appreciated and enjoyed all those who helped me with my car's problems, as well as my own.
