Jack up the car really high, and lower the subframe onto the legs of the hoist. Once it hits the hoist, remove the chain and wheel it out.
I've done it 4 times like this, and i swear I didn't think it could come out the top! the Hayne's manual says do it from the bottom also. 
Are you guys jacking up the car & pulling the radiator & axles, then putting the wheels back on and pulling the engine?
I don't "mod" I just fix what breaks!
