Here are the pictures as promissed. It looks bad but it ain't that bad. This is just one layer of the stuff. Once I add a second layer and will be sanding it down. Only the viewed part will be sanded down. You can see that there's new paper in the piece of fiber glass. The reason for this is that my mold is made of wood which means that it would stick so I had to put paper on my mold so I could remove it once it's dry. Give me your inputs guys. I think I might be getting somewhere with this.

ahhhh, i remember those days with good ole fiberglass. i bought an svt rear bumper for $10 and it was missing about half of the black painted part where the grill goes. anyways, i reconstructed it using thick metal screen, fiberglass, and lastly bodyfiller. after it was all done, you couldnt even tell the difference. hope all goes well with your project!

For those who don't understand what I'm doing here's a little diagram of how it's being done. You should be able to understand using the other pictures above:

Ai guys, I'm happy to say that I've done some sanding yesterday. I should have some nice pics tomorrow. Won't be painted yet but it should be the final result before the paint job. Suggestion for those that will work with fiber glass. Ware gloves!!! I'm stuck with like 20 fiber glass splinters in my hands. ARgggggggg, it's itchy!!!

Probably not that good....

Guys, I won't have a pic today but I'll make sure to have one next week. I'll at least try to post a picture of what it currently looks like. The finishing toutch is the part I hate the most. Plus since it's my first big piece of work the main structure was not perfect so now I'm suffering. By the way Fuseface, I think you can do it if you want. There's always something that can be done on the car that requires these body work skills (If you can call them that). You might want to test first. Before every step I go through, I test the products until I get the results I want and then I apply it on the real thing. That way if I ***k up I'm know trowing away the real work . Can't way to have something to show you guys. Right now the hole think weights 5-7lb. I will probably stay to that. I think it's reasonable.

SoupMan-
When you get done, or whenever you have the time, can you post a general how-to and a rough figure on how much it costs to do this? Thanks. Look forward to seeing the results!

I'll make sure to do so man. I've taken pictures of pretty much every step. I'm hopping to have this project done by the end of July. HOPEFULLY!!!!! I'd like to ride my Contour with my custom skirt before summer ends in Canada
