There's a sticker in the passenger side door jam, at the front near the door-open sensor. Where? I don't see any sticker here. OR, you can look at the sticker on the PCM port cover under the glove box. Just peek under the glove box in the footwell. I don't see one here either.

Spammers will be dealt with very harshly!} ------- Moonlight Blue 1996 Mercury Mystique GS , Zetec engine, ATX. No mods. (Well, OK, one mod. Before I got rid of my previous car, a 1994 Tempo, I swapped radios. I liked the Tempo's radio better. That counts as a mod, doesn't it? I also kept one of my Tempo's wheels to use as a spare. I hate those stupid ?compact? spares that come with modern cars. Does this count as a mod? If so, I guess I have two mods. Replaced burned/melted blower switch and connector on 19 February 2002 with a 1P3T toggle switch from Marvac and a Molex connector from Rat Shack; I guess this now makes three mods.)

Yep, it should be under that brace. Mine was and I had to bend it around to read it.

After standing on my head to see the PCM, there is a white sticker with 4 letters on it along with what might be part of the VIN. I'm assuming that my info is:
1996, NPEF, Ztech, GS
- Jim
'96 Mystique GS, Ztech - ATX, with CD changer, Sylvania Cool Blues, sunroof, keyless entry, and 9mm blue wires

1996, NPEF, Ztech, GS NPEF is the plant that made it - not the code (NPEF = "North Penn Electronics Facility"). My paychecks said that many moons ago. The code you want will be letter-letter-letter-number. It is on the connector up top if you feel like removing the entire PCM.

-Lance[/b]or you look under the hood at the sticker ford put on it when they updated the code and have chris tell me what it translated to which was: AAB6--- use to be AAB5 ( according to the computers sticker) 96 GL Zetec
Joe Hartley "yes I know it's a MTX Zetec but it beats having a ATX Duratec" Champagne 96 GL MTX some mods dynoed at 114.2whp and 124.4wtq (pre CTA intake) 16.858 @ 80.76mph (yes it's slow but still faster than D Davis) AIM: ZetecRacing My Site My Profile

97 SE built 9/96
I have the distinction of having a weird code that there is no chip for, probably due to the fact 97 was a short year, and 97 SE's with MTX and CA/NY emissions (assuming that makes a difference to the code???)were probably the rarest of that year.
97 SE MTX, KKM, UR UDP, 19# Injectors, SVT TB, SVT UIM, SVT Flywheel, Grizzly Street Clutch, Upgraded motor mounts, mystifed precats, brand new main cat, SVT exhaust sans resonator, 205-55-15 Dunlop SP5000's 154hp / 156 tq before the SVT exhaust, SVT dual honed upper and swapping the mystery main cat for mystery precats.
