The FAQ is out of date. It has not been updated to reflect the most current Motorcraft service replacement part. I did not indicate that the Autolite plug was out of date, indeed I indicated that it is entirely suitable for this application. In fact, my wife's car has been running them for almost three years and 40K miles.

The usage of the fine-wire design negates the requiremant for double platinum tips. Service life is expected to be of similar duration as the double-platinum design. Perform a SEARCH on "fine-wire" for previous discussions that you might have missed that covered this in depth.

I have not seen any relevent discussions on this or any other forum that fine-wire plugs were unsuitable for waste spark systems as this is counter to all informed discussions I have seen. Please do more research.
