30 lbs out of a 2500 lbs car yields the same as a 1.2% increase in engine output.
And that's static weight. Rotational weight is more significant.

- remove spare tire
- remove jack
- remove passenger and rear seats
- remove sound deadening materials
- remove air conditioning system
- remove power window system
- remove sunroof system
- remove wiper fluid system
- remove unused seatbelt systems
- gut trunk of lining and trim
- hood -> carbon fiber
- trunk -> carbon fiber
- seats -> lightweight
- battery -> Dynabatt
- wheels -> lightweight
- brakes -> Wilwood, TCE packages
- pulleys -> lightweight
- glass -> Lexan
- relocate battery to trunk
- remove stereo system (4 speakers, amp, HU, antenna, etc.)
- exhaust -> offroad y-pipe

I've already got a head start on all you SVT owners. MY V6 mtx doesn't have:
Sound deadening
Power windows
Power locks
Sunroof
Alarm...
Also, I never seem to have any gas...
Hahaha But I guess any benefit the lack of those things might give is probably negated by the carseats, stroller and tools...
