I just stole the Bose badge from a Envoy at work. I carpool with the lady and wanted to get some good Bose sound from my Omni. I'll let you know how it works.

There are two of them on each car, one on the driver's side strut tower, and the other is in a non-disclosed hidden location on the vehicle's structure, so that true Bullitt Mustangs can be distinguished from fakes in the future.

If it is "non-disclosed", how is a potential used car buyer going to verify it? And if it means as much "exclusivity' to resell value as the SVT label does to the Contour, it won't be an issue anyway... frown

notice I said there are TWO of them. besides, someone will eventually find where it was put, and/or it will be known sometime in the future. Honestly, I don't even remember for sure where the second one is.

Maybe Team Mustang should have taken a little more pride in their product! wink

Bullitt Mustang Down on Power

It's meant as a joke Rara, calm down... laugh
Everyone is so serious around here. Last time I checked all cars were still inanimate chunks of steel, plastic and rubber, be it a Bullitt Mustang or a non-SVT (non-Bullitt) 'Tour.

Before anyone else says BON sucks, I have to say that all I've heard about the Bullit is that that 265-270Hp is what the dynos have seen at the wheels. It's not advertised as such, but quarter mile times of 13.6's need that kind of power. I think the owners are plenty happy.

I will stand up for Rara and say that putting the Bullit badge on your Contour is gay, gay, gay. And even if you had a 3L Supercharged, nitroused, Dark Highland Green SVT that could stomp a real Bullit you would be a monumental ricer.
If you like getting laughed at do it. I'll be the first to shake my head in disbelief and laugh if ever see anything but a Bullit wear that badge!
Oops the phone just rang, must be my Winnebago badges I ordered for my SLK230 Kompressor. :p

Hey...I just went to a local dealer...and ordered my fuel door. $28 plus tax. He says it will be here by Friday, we'll see. I already paid for it, so, hopefully they wont say...uh...we screwed up...you owe us 60 dollars more.

The thing that amazed me...he didnt even know about the new Bullitt. I mean, granted he was just a parts guy at the counter...but he wasnt some kid. I would assume that they would know what is going on in their own car company. Ah well, hopefully I will get it by friday, and will have it on by Saturday. laugh

P.S. the only thing that will get the badge is either gonna be Ebay...or my computer.. (where I put all my stickers) maybe I'll just put it away for safekeeping.

just an FYI, Bullitt hp was never advertised.
The Bullitt is a good bit quicker in the 1/4 mile than another stock GT though. Bullitt was shipped rated at 265hp, but with an improved torque curve over a regular GT, it was deemed that this torque curve improvement met the performance increase desired, along w/ the retuned, lowered suspension, and the 13" cobra brakes, and the subframe connectors.

Uh oh...

sorry about another post

I was just filled in by Roland Stiller about the part number for the fuel door. 1rz-63405a26-aa The p/n on my receipt is 1r3z-63405a26-aa

Did the guy at the dealership order me the wrong one? Please let me know, I may just wait to see it, but if anyone is in the know on this any info would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Cya

actually, go in w/ any of these #s and describe the part to the guy and he should be able to find the right one.
