Note that any basic carbohydrate structure would dehydrate at the central O bond, also called a glycosidic center. I think if you added HCl it would form carbon, but it matters how much HCl is added. If it's a large volume, it's not possible.

I'm not very familar w/ the structure of Dextrose, but I think it's just the D-glucose (I'm pretty sure it's D-glucose, since normal glucose is L-glucose). In any case, it's a carbohydrate as well and would occur with the same dehydration synthesis @ the glycosidic center.
