I went and looked at the Bullitt Mustang today... who would have thought my little rinky dink town would have had one on their showroom floor? Well, they did and even though I am not a very fond fan of mustangs, I thought that this one was very sharp. I popped the fuel door open for a closer look, and saw the 4 screws which hold the trim ring in place. Because I was there on a parts run for work, I did not inspect the door thoroughly, but the thought that went through my mind was "this would take 5 seconds to steal." Seeing as how I did order one and it cost me 90 bucks, I do want this door to stay with my car for awhile. So, when I get my fuel door and the how to from the board, if it is as easy to remove as it appears to be, I am setting straight to work on some kind of fastener to prevent would be takers from attempting a steal. If anyone has done this or comes up with something before I do, please post here. I will keep you guys updated.

Also, as a side note, just for opinions sake as I am not sure what to do here, but the people I ordered the door from threw in the Bullitt logo that adorns the left of the rear trunk panel on the Mustangs free of charge. Any idea what to do with it when I get it? I would really like to use it on the Contour... maybe stick it where the Sport logo is on the trunk or something? I mean, while we are on the topic of Aesthetics...... smile Thanks guys!

I will personally kick someone's a$$ who puts a Bullitt badge on thier Contour.

No offense, but I'm serious. Just don't do it. It's hard enough seeing it on non-Bullitt Mustangs.

Nice to know that there are rational folks out there like you Rara... someone who will threaten other people with violence in order to prove their point. And there is no offense taken at all when you threaten to beat me senseless and use profanity... why not just tell me you are going to put a gun to my head and shoot me? I am sure if someone told you that too you would not be offended. But while we are on the subject of non-Bullitt Mustangs, I have something to interject (as always). If your opinion counts then so does mine. The original Bullitt Mustang was a dark green 68 Fastback with a carbureted engine (among other things as well). The "new edition" Bullitt Mustang is good looking as I said, but it does not resemble a 68 fastback in any way, and some are even going to be made in black and blue as well, which makes it even more distant from its original. Some designer at Ford decided to take a Mustang GT, slap a different intake on it and dress it up with a bunch of retro styled pieces to make it look faster, raise the price and call it a Bullitt edition Mustang. Most of the mods done to this car are purely cosmetic, and if some designer at Ford can give this car a makeover and call it a Bullitt edition, then why can I not decide to make a Bullitt edition Contour of my own? I agree calling it a Bullitt Mustang would be wrong, as the car is not a Mustang, but that is not what I am trying to do. All of you out there with mods do not have Contours or Contour SVT's either, because if you did then the car would be bone stock as Ford originally intended it to be. As soon as you start modifying a car, it loses its similarities and starts taking the shape of the owner. And most importantly, I am not trying to pull this off as a "from the factory car", but as something that says "this one is mine and I decided to make it unique that way". I don't think that anybody would believe that Ford made a Bullitt edition Contour, and if they did, then I probably don't want to associate with them anyways. Disagreeing opinions are welcome, but you do not need to threaten me... the more profanity and violence you try and bully me with, the less your opinion matters to me... no offense, but I am serious.

fenderman49,

I think the idea of the bullitt logo on a contour would be interesting and new - would definately keep em guessing. I say go for it if you think it's cool despite what others think. smile

Um, yeah, while we're putting Bullitt badges on our Contours, I'm gonna run out and get some Cobra emblums, as my car is currently lacking BS badges. Perhaps I can get some M3/M5 badges as well?

"Keep them guessing" is a rice-boy excuse, BTW. Like "I'm gonna put type-r badges on my Prelude, it'll keep them guessing".
