ok so i installed just the shift knob yesterday, drove it home and drove it to work this morning. I dont think i like it. The base is metal but the top where the buttons go is plastic, and it rattles. I may just have to tighten the screw but havent had a chance yet. Plus the thing is like twice as high as my last shift knob. I am having problems getting it set to where the reverse lockout will engage, I test fit, screw down the nuts, and then try and it wont go.
As far as applications, I was really thinking to use it to operate the remote to the gate. I just have to figure out how to make it work.
The gate remote runs off of a 9 volt, the leads from each button provide 12 volts from the car..... Again just have to figure out the best way to do it. Any ideas.
I may just say f it and put my old one back on. I dont really like the way it feels anyway.
